Qualified linear scorers will only be eligible for appointment to provincial matches once the above criteria have been met. A certificate of attendance is given to all scorers who complete the linear course and qualification is achieved once scorers have completed the course, followed by six months’ practical scoring experience with a Club or School and successfully passed the CSA Level D Exam.

Trainee scorers are provided with a training manual and blank scoresheets. Each course is split over 3 days of three hours each and includes both theory and practical training.
